Still alive and still with an opinion!
I owe my viewers an apology.
I've not published anything to the site since I visited Croatia in October. There is no explanation or reason why I haven't published, but I'll try not to leave such a gap in the future.
Since Croatia, I spent a good weekend in Lille with a certain somebody. Apart from that, I have spent far too much time on the M25 and not enough time taking interesting photos (And lets face it, there is no point in publishing photos of the M25!).
Upcoming events...
On the 16th November, I'm flying to Nimes to spend the weekend with good friend Rob and also for dinner with Michael and Susan. As Rob has interest in the house, which is currently on the market, it may be the last chance to get down there.
Unfortunately though, I'm having to fly as Eurostar and SNCF would like to charge over £300 to take the train due to the "fabulous" move from Waterloo to St Pancras. Is it just me or is this labour government only bothered about moving everything slightly further north now?
I have spoken to people some miles north of London just today who made it very clear that they don't care about Eurostar as they find flying simpler.
Based on this information and bearing in mind that it will now take even longer to reach St Pancras from South London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, it seems that the main customer base for Eurostar will now find their journey times overall increasing and the only people who shall benefit are old Derek and Ethel who live in Sheffield, use Eurostar once every five years for a holiday and would like a glass of champagne and a stroll around a farmers market before they leave!!
On the 23rd November, I shall be flying to Valencia for a fun weekend away. I really like the mixed lifestyle enjoyed in the place as it's positioning mean that the coast and the urban landscape clash. I'll keep the blog posted with more about this one.
To close the month down, on the 30th November, it's Richard's birthday (Richard is featured elsewhere on the blog)!!!
This exciting evening will take place in some of Brighton's most sought after locations and without any sarcasm, I'm quite looking forward to seeing Richard and his friends once again.
My closing thought for the day: Let the individual adapt!
Have a nice weekend!
